By the end of 2016, the population of the province over 60 years old has reached 20 million 570 thousand, accounting for 20.68% of the total population. Among them, 13 million 79 thousand and 800 of the people over 65 years old account for 13.15% of the total population, 2 million 392 thousand and 400 of the senior citizens over 80 years old, accounting for 2.4% of the total population. "This is the first time that our province has exceeded 20 million people over the age of 60, and the number of elderly people in our province is the largest in the country."
