58 years old this year, Peng Shizeng was a leather shoe designer in Ji'nan leather shoes factory. After the collapse of the leather shoe factory in 1992, Peng Shizeng left the factory to go out for a job. After he was laid off, he did a lot of work. "I sold furniture and wine, I made clothes, and I went to the countryside to get the seeds, but I didn't give it up, but I did the shoes."
Peng Shizeng opened a shoe repair shop near his home. Many people in the neighborhood recognized his skill of repairing shoes. Other shoemaker's shoes could not be repaired, and he could always get them repaired. Peng Shizeng said it was related to his design and shoes in shoe factory.
PENG Shi added that the production process and historical culture of the old leather shoes factory were gradually forgotten. In 2013, the old site of the old Ji'nan leather shoes factory was reconstructed. On the original site, the West Street workshop cultural and creative industrial park was built. Peng Shizeng was invited to the park to create the present miniature shoes exhibition hall. He said that this could inherit the craft and history of leather shoes. "At that time, the old leader of the factory wanted to recreate the history of leather shoes factory, and found me through acquaintances, and I came over."
