A hundred year old Japanese veteran, Ji'nan medical atonement for up to 70 years
(excerpt: People's network), the body of the 102 year old Japanese soldier, Yamazaki Hiroshi, who had participated in the war of invasion of China, he donated to the Red Cross of Shandong province for medical research in the morning of December 2nd, and completed the final wish of the old man "staying in China".
it is understood that Yamazaki Hiroshi was born in Okayama, Japan in November 1908. In 1937, Yamazaki Hiroshi, who was involved in the war of invasion of China, came to China as a military doctor. Because he could not bear to witness the burning and plundering of the Japanese army, he fled to the army and wanted to go home soon. He begged all the way to Ji'nan, Shandong Province, and felt that the local people were good enough to set up a private clinic in Ji'nan. In the past 70 years, Yamazaki Hiroshi has given up the opportunity to return to Japan to save lives in Ji'nan, so as to atone for the crimes committed by Japanese troops in war. His noble medical ethics has won praise from the public, and the people of Ji'nan have called him "mountain doctor" kindly. Yamazaki Hiroshi has won the "2009 Shandong annual news personage Award".
Yamazaki Hiroshi died in his home in Ji'nan in the evening of December 1st. His daughter, 66 year old Shan Yongyun, told reporters that although his father kept his Japanese nationality, he had a genuine Ji'nan accent. "The old man never speaks Japanese, except to call relatives in Japan." In the past 70 years, the "mountain doctor" who has served the Chinese people in obscurity has regarded Ji'nan as his hometown. He hopes to stay in China forever.
2 at 10 a.m., Yamazaki Hiroshi's family and many Ji'nan citizens came to the hospital morgue to give the old man the last leg. According to the will of the elderly, here is a simple donation ceremony. Standing in front of her father's body, she had tears streaming down her face. She told reporters that the desire of the old man sprouted in 2004, and the old man decided to donate his body while he was in hospital. After discharge, she submitted the donated materials written by her father to the Red Cross and went through the proper procedures. He sent away his father's remains, and he gave three thanks to the public for his father's thanks to the Chinese people.
