this unique courtyard is called "Yi Bo Yuan". In the ordinary village, the three courtyards of the Ming and Qing Imperial courtyard style are very bright. Horse head wall, small green tiles, carved beams and painted houses, a pair of stone lions at the gate, a typical Anhui style architecture. The owner of the courtyard is a seventy old man named Li Changyin.
this colourful "Royal courtyard" is commonly known as "Dragon Palace" by the locals, because the dragon is seen everywhere in the building. Li Changyin introduced, in this courtyard, he carved more than 200 dragon, dragon chair, dragon bed more than 20, the pillar is the auspicious dragon cloud, the window is the carved dragon, the roof has Shuanglong beads, the ceiling is flying in the sky. There are Longjing and Dragon Pavilion in the courtyard. There are also three dimensional sculptures carved on the walls - the nine dragon wall.
Li Changyin is proud of the dragon palace he built. It was impossible to do before. Now it has been built and its dream has come true. Li Changyin, 73, originally from Liyang, Jiangsu, came to the village with his parents when he was more than 10 years old. At that time, because the family was poor, he dropped out of school and dropped out to work at home, and was a carpenter at the age of 17. After a few years, he became a famous carpenter, and the most beautiful building in the village was earned by the carpenter.
Li Changyin was envious of the palace buildings from childhood. In 2000, after the 56 year old Li Changyin had finished the preparatory work of the previous design, he began to work to rebuild his building, and to build a "Dragon Palace" of his own.
at first, his ideas and actions were not understood by anyone. The family saw him spend about one hundred thousand of his savings and stopped him, but Li Changyin insisted on building his dream "Palace" by himself. A knife knife carved out the gallery window, one completed the Dragon chair, the dragon pillar and sculpture were built step by step.
Li Changyin was devoted to the construction of his "Dragon Palace" for more than 10 years. Money was not enough. Wood was bought from the second-hand market. All the designs, construction, engraving, painting and writing were all finished by one person. After years of hard work, Li Changyin finally realized his dream and built a royal palace called "Dragon Palace".
