The "pain point" of college graduates' internship: before graduation, how to become a "whole labor force"
Ma Yuping / China Youth Daily
Zhang Qi feels unbelievable, and my master's graduation thesis is almost finished in 5 days.
at the end of December last year, Zhang Qi, who was a graduate student in grade two of a "985 Project" University, received many olive branches thrown from many units. After consulting her family members and teachers and friends repeatedly, she signed a three party agreement with a state-owned enterprise. She felt relieved, and the job hunting season was finally over. She could do her graduation thesis and enjoy the last few months on campus.
however, Zhang Qi never thought that the appointment time was six months ahead of schedule.
the three party agreement did not take long before she received a call from the company to "go to work". Because the air tickets for returning to the Spring Festival have been booked, she is allowed to come back later. Since the beginning of seven, she has been urged 4 times.
"there is no adjustment period and learning period. On the day of the report, I was assigned a computer, arranged the task, and left work at 7 o'clock in the evening." Zhang Qi recalls.
, she thought, from that day, her career began.
gets up at 5:40 every day, goes out at 6:30, goes to the subway before he goes to the company, and Zhang Qi makes a careful plan for his morning time. Like all formal employees, she writes PPT, collation of official letters and materials, visiting customers, and responsible for the operation of WeChat public in the Department.
"I am a new employee. I am not an intern." Zhang Qi said, "no one regards me as an intern. If you ask for leave, the leader will mention the year-end bonus with you." Since February, she takes 800 yuan a month. But considering that she is going to enter the office, the people around her are her colleagues and leaders. She dare not ask too much for fear of leaving a bad impression.
the busiest is a Friday last month. Zhang Qi clearly recollection that she asked for a leave to go to school for an examination that day. As soon as they left the examination room, they received the notice of modifying PPT and some other materials. It has been busy until two o'clock in the morning, although the second day is Saturday, it still needs to get up at 5 and rush to the unit for another meeting. She is most worried about her thesis. "The date of submission of the first draft of the academic paper has long passed, and my thesis has just been written to the literature review."
writing the paper every day in the working space becomes the norm of this graduating student. She put forward the idea of asking for a few days' paper leave because she was too anxious. "No, the leader said you could buy one on the Internet. I can recruit new people, so I can't find another intern or anyone else to do the work."
according to her introduction, the requirement for going to work is different because of different departments. No other graduating students who signed three party agreements in the same group did not come to work. "It depends entirely on the situation of the Department and the personality of the leader."
similar to Zhang Qi's experience, Shen Shen, who signed a real estate company this year, said he was "very miserable" too.
in Shen Shen's view, pre job practice is more like an unwritten rule. Since he signed the three party agreement in November last year, he went to work every day. "From the second year of the new year to the eighth day of the new year, I have been writing papers at home. After work, I have written 3 complete weekends. I go back to work and change again every day." Shen Shen reckoned that his time to write papers was about 10 days, but he stressed that "early stage has been collecting and collating materials".
SHEN deep admits, like my own work, and also like his own unit, I came all the way from the internship, but the contradiction of the graduation season and work still puzzles him. "Ask for the internship no problem, but we should give us some time to arrange it freely." In other words, let us know which time is not suitable for internship.
he feels that graduates are disadvantaged groups throughout the job search season. Worry about not finding a job, worrying that the unit is too concerned about asking for leave. Shen Shen mentioned that some of the classmates had signed online travel companies. Working overtime until 1 o'clock in the morning is a common occurrence. In their own units, many of the first batch of graduates who came to work have come to practice before, and in this case, they are more embarrassed to ask for leave. "People are always ashamed of themselves. Now they are asked to leave by the hour." Shen Shen said. But fortunately, the unit has given relatively generous subsidies, which is close to half of the official salaries.
"Internship", "work", "in advance". Peng Shuai, who is a fresh graduate, feels "I don't understand this time". "The person in charge says I want you to have time to get in touch with the job. If the school is really busy, it will be a period of time, but at least one month has to be on the post." Peng Shuai said.
before the signing of the three party agreement, he went through interviews, political trials, internships and other links, but after signing the contract, he was asked to work. Peng Shuai asked in detail whether this time would be a probationary period. The reply is negative, which is irrelevant to the probation period. The unit allocated jobs for them, and gave explanations, because the company's Department adjustment and manpower shortage were not considered as internships.
Yang Kai, who signed a Internet Co in November last year, is much more relaxed on this issue. He said that the company encouraged early practice contact work, but not mandatory. After communicating with the company's human resources department, he decided to put the practice time after the Spring Festival. So it took time from last December to February this year to write papers.
"just sent the first draft written to the tutor yesterday, and these two days are ready for internship." Yang Kai also admitted that several of the students who signed his contract had already been recruited for internship, so there was pressure to complete the internship formalities after submitting their papers.
Yang Kai also considered writing while practicing, but he thought that "during the day after work, the energy has been exhausted, and it is hard to sink at night." He spent a lot of time reading literature and consulting a large number of English and French materials. Finally, more than 70 valid references were listed.
"I don't think it will be a great achievement to spend some time writing papers, but it will be very useful to read a lot of books and materials." Yang Kai said.
Chen Sha, who has worked in his post for nearly a year, recalled that the unit had to sign a three party agreement and had to come to work until graduation. "No subsidies, housing and transportation are their own commitments." Chen Sha smiled and said, "I also asked for a few days' paper leave" for the reason that "I can't go back to school and not graduate." Chen Sha admits that envious of those students who are admitted to the civil service or to the bank's head office can get the diploma, sign the labor contract and go to work.
and Zhang Qi doesn't seem to be so lucky. This year, the university graduates will be up to 7 million 650 thousand. She said she cherished the job very much and expressed her simple wish: "I hope that I can have time to write a paper like a normal graduate, and have time to graduate with my classmates."
during the two sessions this year, NPC deputies put forward the "proposal to formally introduce regulations on the practice of college students". Zhang Qi forwarded the suggestion to the class group. According to this proposal, we should establish and improve the law of guaranteeing the rights and interests of college students, and clarify the legal status of college students during their internship, especially the relationship between the interns and the internship units as special labor relations into the adjustment scope of the labor law.
in her opinion, these suggestions hit her own "pain spot".
