British women made a successful 3.7 meter paper ship
recently, a British woman made a 12 foot (about 3.7 meters) long paper ship "experiment" in a lake in southern London. The woman, named Moven Aa Wilson (Morwenna Wilson), is the descendant of the greatest Engineer in Britain, Ethan Bud Kim Brunel (Isambard Kingdom Brunel). She led a team of paper boats that was successfully tested on Southwark Lake in southern London.
it is reported that the hull is about 12 feet long and weighs about 220 pounds (about 100 kilograms). The inspiration for the paper boat comes from the traditional handmade origami. Apart from the manufacture of wood and polystyrene, other parts are made of waterproof cardboard. Such exquisite design enables the hull to float smoothly on the water surface. Wilson also became the first passenger to take the paper boat.
"I want to tell young people that the career of an engineer can open the door of an adventure, and it will bring you a lot of exciting challenges and new experiences." Wilson said, "I will pass this technology from generation to generation."
it was reported that the creative design was designed to meet the 50 days after the "The Big Bang Fair" held at the Bermingham National Exhibition Center. It is reported that the exhibition is the largest scientific and engineering celebration held in Britain for young people, with activities lasting from March 11, 2015 to 14.
