The countries they have been to include New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Kampuchea, Vietnam, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and France. , the Turner finally returned to British territory after experiencing rain forests, deserts, floods and even earthquakes. They were warmly welcomed by their relatives and friends at the Plymouth docks in Devon. Steve's father said, "when they left, I gave them only one suggestion: even if the tour lasted only 2 weeks, two people would be assured to come back together. But they insist on 2 years of cycling through rainforests, deserts, cities, and open roads, surviving in bad weather, stray dogs, floods and even earthquakes. Their journey is full of adventure, and they also know a lot of hospitable people.
the Turner gave up a well paid job to raise money for the charity's "practical action". During their journey, they climbed 249365 meters, equivalent to 28 Mount Qomolangma. Steve suffered severe heat exhaustion in Thailand, and Kate cracked his knee in Australia. In July 2013, they encountered an earthquake in Dingxi, China. Kyrgyzstan impressed the Turner and they said they had never heard of it before.
Kate said, "the mountains there are magnificent. The nomadic people are very hospitable. It is very interesting to see how to pack up Mongolia bags. We spent many quiet evenings under the stars... We were helped by many kindhearted people to complete the trip. Many passing cars opened the window to give us chocolate or cold drinks. Strangers even invited us to our home to invite us to dinner without our delicious food. It's all moving.
on the 15 th of this month, the Turner finally returned to Britain and was warmly welcomed by her friends and family.
