Re: reminiscence of the five Ji'nan image series: the old scenery of Daming Lake
Cheng Ren's ancestral temple is located on the west side of the Arctic Pavilion in the Daming Lake scenic area. For twenty-six years (1937) of the Republic of China, the Kuomintang government of Shandong built an ancestral temple for the fifty-eight soldiers of the Kuomintang army, which was killed in the battle of Hunan and Jiangxi. In those days, the hall of Cheng Ren was a quadrangle, with its main gate facing south, surrounded by a half wall Gallery, and a pavilion and pool in the courtyard. In 1955, the gate of the Cheng Ren temple was moved to the iron temple, which became its eastern gate. The corridor was also demolished, leaving only ancestral hall, moonlight Pavilion and pool. The picture shows the ancient temples located on the North Bank of Daming Lake.
