BMW recalls some imports of BMW, mini and Rolls-Royce due to electronic pump defects

BMW (China) Auto Trade Co., Ltd. submitted a recall report to the General Administration of quality inspection (cqsiq) on April 13th, according to the website of the State Quality Inspection Administration (cqsiq) website. Due to the defects of the electronic water pump, the BMW (China) Auto Trade Co., Ltd. will recall from April 24, 2012. Some imported BMW (BMW) 7 series, X5, X6, mini (MINI), and Rolls-Royce (ROLLS-ROYCE) Gust (ghost) cars. According to the company's statistics, there are 177 BMW, 164 mini cars and 73 Rolls-Royce in mainland China, with production dates from March 2011 to August 2011. The models include: BMW 750Li, 760Li, Active hybrid 7, X5 xDrive50i, X5 M, X6 Xdrive50i, X6 M, and Rolls-Royce gurst. (R60).

there may be cracks in the housing of the electronic pump installed on the engine, which may lead to the infiltration of the engine coolant into the pump circuit board, which causes internal short circuit and the water pump is unable to work. There may be overheating of PCB in some vehicles, which can cause burning of PCB and serious safety hazard. BMW's authorized dealers will contact the customers to replace the electronic pumps free of charge for customers to eliminate the hidden trouble.
