1960 January 22nd, Pingyin county was designated as the Heze special area. In June 18th of the same year, the Eastern District of the city was restored to merge with the people's commune of the eastern suburb of Licheng County, and the eastern suburb was established. After the adjustment, Ji'nan city under the jurisdiction of the city, the city, the bridge, Huaiyin and the eastern suburb of 5 areas, and the people's commune, and the street office is renamed branch (from the end of 1962 to the beginning of 1963, the restoration area and the name of the street office), as well as the calendar City, Zhangqiu, Feicheng, Ningyang, Laiwu, Xintai, Tai'an, Xinwen 8 counties (cities). 1978 September 29th, the 15 production teams adjacent to the urban area of Licheng county were included in the urban area. In November 17, 1978, Zhangqiu and Changqing were classified as Ji'nan.

1980, resets the suburbs of Ji'nan. After adjustment, Ji'nan has jurisdiction over 5 districts, 3 cities in the city, Tianqiao, Huaiyin and the suburbs, and 3 counties in Licheng, Zhangqiu and Changqing. In March 27, 1985, Pingyin county was classified as Ji'nan. In April 11, 1987, the system of rural and Licheng county was revoked, and Licheng District was established. After adjustment, Ji'nan has jurisdiction over 5 cities, including 3 cities in Zhangqiu, Changqing and Pingyin. In December 2, 1989, the two counties of Jiyang and Shanghe, which were originally in Dezhou, were classified as Ji'nan. In August 1, 1992, Zhangqiu county was revoked, and Zhangqiu (county level) was established, and the administrative region remained unchanged. In June 26, 2001, Changqing county was revoked and Changqing district was established.
