" Recently, Tang Yuzhi, a retired movie theater worker, and a movie show enthusiast Zhang Yongkang called the newspaper. In August 15th, the newspaper published "is it really difficult to see an open-air movie", a newspaper reported that social workers in the Xixiang community in Ji'nan, Shandong Province, wanted to put an open-air film for the elderly, but they were hard to find the resources.
Tang Yuzhi said that his life is doomed to be inseparable from the movie. "Even if I retire now, I would like to enter the community to show the residents free."
in 1962, Tang Yuzhi, 18, worked in Chinese cinemas. He worked as a film runner, projectors and propagandists. To sum up in a word, apart from the position of accountant, he has done other kinds of work in the cinema. In 2004, he retired, and at the same time, he started a new life -- the voluntary exhibition in the community.
the decline of Ji'nan's old movie shows made him five kinds of miscellaneous. He said that the Chinese cinema which had worked for over 40 years was demolished in 2009. The son's bright cinema and his daughter's peaceful cinema were no longer the original appearance. Now their children's work has nothing to do with the movie. "I heard that some cities in the south are now showing up this kind of movie screening. There are also Southern businessmen who want to buy my equipment. I do not agree." He is looking forward to the revival of the old fashioned show in Ji'nan one day. In his view, this plays a decisive role in the accumulation of urban culture.
enthusiastic to serve residents is also a movie show enthusiast Zhang Yongkang. Four or five years ago, Zhang Yongkang, who had been fond of old movies, went out of the old goods market to an old movie projector. Since then, he began to figure out how to operate the equipment, and scamper the film everywhere, and set up a folk film projection team, the "eight road projection team". Knowing that some social workers were looking for movie projection resources, he said he was willing to free movies for the community.
the "eight road projection team" now has 5 people in the park, the square and other places for free. Zhang Yongkang said that they averaged three or four games a month and nearly 20 in a year.
in the face of the declining reality of the old film projection in Ji'nan, Shandong, he believes that this is a gradual expression of people's ignorance of this cultural form. "Old film and its projection technology are a highlight in the history of urban development, adding cultural details to the city, and should not be forgotten." He said, "the old technology shows more depth and sense of taste than the current digital films. I don't want future generations to see this in documentaries and museums, hoping to pass on these old technologies. "
now, Zhang Yongkang has a new plan. "We have a small number of screening in the community, and then we can increase the number of public welfare releases in places such as communities, old homes and schools, so that more people can feel the charm of the old film again."
