In order to strengthen wetland protection, Shandong will strive to apply for 1 international important wetlands by 2017, establish 300 wetland parks in national, provincial and municipal levels, 50 wetland rational use demonstration areas and 30 wetland ecological education bases, and establish 20 wetland nature reserves at national, provincial and municipal levels.
Shandong has announced a number of key projects in recent years, including the construction of Ji'nan the Yellow River wetland ecological conservation area. It is understood that the coverage of the project is from West Shandong, Ji'nan City, Changqing District, Pingan street in Changqing District, east to Jiyang County, Cui Zhai Town, 50 kilometers long, will protect the restoration of wetland area of 80 thousand mu, of which 20 thousand mu, restore and rebuild 60 thousand mu, build 200 meters of ecological protection forest belt, construction of Ji'nan "Nanshan middle spring north water" ecological layout.
