This route is the first intercontinental cargo route of Jinan International Airport. Deputy Mayor Sun Bin attended the opening ceremony.
At 5 pm, the B747 freighter belonging to the Belgian ASL Airlines slowly slipped to the apron of Jinan International Airport. The opening ceremony kicked off. Wang Weizhong, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Shandong Airport Group Co., Ltd., and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Airport Group Co., Ltd. Liu Jiyong, general manager of Jinan International Airport Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony. According to reports, the Jinan-Belgium (Liege) cargo route began its trial operation on April 21st. It was operated by Qingdao Haigu International Logistics Co., Ltd. and was operated by the Belgian ASL Airlines. It was a Boeing 747-400ERF freight model. The largest freight model operated by Jinan International Airport since its opening. The route travels between Jinan International Airport and the Belgian Liege Airport. As of May 8, the route has been running smoothly for 6 flights. After the cargo flight of Jinan-Belgium (Liege) opened, this year it is expected to fly 108 classes. Calculating the average round-trip cargo of nearly 200 tons, the annual inbound and outbound cargo will reach more than 20,000 tons. Jinan Airport's inbound and outbound cargo volume will exceed 700% increase. The opening of the cargo route has led to the development of the Jinan aviation logistics industry, which further enriches the layout of the Shandong international freight network and will play a positive role in accelerating the construction of the “four centers”.
